The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.

erm, can i have another show of hands on who's seriously interested in my B n W artbook Elusive (temporary name)?8D; thanx. will be sending it to print near end of Nov/early Dec,n i wanna know how many roughly i should print---the printing place is kinda far, so if possible, i don't wanna end up going there again and again, and again 8D;;; hahaha~

the updated specs for it:
1. previously i had round 16 artworks. now i have round 20-30, 6 still wip (won't post these in DA for some time...)..including the cover, which will colour i guess 8D;
2. i think will exclude coloured pages, unless u all want me to include a certain coloured artwork as A6 postcard?

tell me what u think.
3. contents will be printed on 100gsm simili paper, cover, am unsure whether i want to have it as laminated artcard or use a different type of paper yet, have to see what type of paper they have first. do you guys want it laminated anyway XD;?if not, both sides can save some cost, lol.
4. it has roughly equal amounts of various fan arts and original artworks...and will be B5 in size (slightly smaller than A4 )
5.i)estimated pricing for locals at events (CF, Animangaki etc)=RM18 (due to increase in number of artworks i included 8D;;; )
ii) estimated pricing of book including postage for locals which wants it posted to them=round RM25-30 (depends on which side of Malaysia u are in dear)
iii) estimated pricing for overseas including postage= round 18-20USD (regular airmail with tracking, takes up to 2 weeks to one month for posting to Germany/USA ---posted some stuff before XD )
6. will gladly draw anyone who buys the book a fast sketch from the bust up any character (one) of their choice

, either in the artbook or on separate piece of 100gsm paper.(CF goers who wants me to draw on the spot...plz bring a printed reference TT, thanx)
7. overseas posting will have to wait till after the event in 17th/18th December, as i don't think i can spilt into so many of me, lawl. so if you are from overseas, and you want to prebook the book to ensure i don't end up selling all of them unexpectedly, NOW will be a wonderful time to tell me 8P...
8. the linearts of artworks which am veeery sure will be in the book (lol)

It's an artbook right? I don't think it need to be laminated, because you are using 100gsm paper for the content, which I think quite tebal.
